Fresh Fruit Milk Shake
½ cup of your favorite fruit OR one banana
½ cup vanilla ice cream
½ cup milk
one or two drops vanilla flavoring
1 oz simple sweet syrup (see below)
Peel, seed, and/or core fruit. Toss fruit, ice cream, and milk into blender. Blend on high until smooth. Serve immediately in a tall glass with a straw, ice tea spoon, and fruit slice garnish.
You could also substitute a fruit-flavored ice cream for vanilla, enhancing the flavor of your shake.
Simple Sweet Syrup:
½ cup boiling water
¼ cup sugar
Thoroughly dissolve sugar in water. One ounce equals two tablespoons.
